I am a life-long resident of Hastings and a graduate of Hastings High School. After graduation, I attended Kellogg Community College, where I earned my Associate’s Degree. While attending college, I began working for the firm with the original partner, John L. Walker, CPA, as a bookkeeper/receptionist. As a result of thirty plus years with the firm and the bookkeeping experience I have attained during those years, I am now the Bookkeeping Department supervisor and Executive Manager of the firm.
While at Walker, Fluke & Sheldon, PLC, you will find me working in both the Hastings and Ionia office locations. As bookkeeping supervisor, I still maintain a variety of bookkeeping clients for which I prepare and review financial statements, payroll taxes and payroll service, along with the training of new staff. As the Executive Manager, I have many administrative duties including staff management, office policy implementation, and office statistics compilation.
My husband, Dan, and I have two daughters, Katie and Kristie, and two grandchildren, Tristin and Josalyn. When not at the office, I enjoy gardening, crocheting, our home on Leach Lake, and the time spent with our family and friends.
I started working for Walker, Fluke & Sheldon, PLC in 1983. I was a stay-at-home mom with three small girls. I was looking for something part-time. When my oldest daughter started college, I started working full-time. My position with the firm is Director of Finance. I enjoy the variety of my job. I work with the financial side of the business, including billing, purchasing, and payroll. I have watched the firm grow through the years and am proud that I work for Partners who are passionate about their firm and care for the communities where they work and have offices.
Now, the girls are all grown up, graduated from college, and have lives of their own! Casey, a CPA for a firm in Grand Rapids, is married to Tim and have their first child on the way (a BOY). Christy, a dental hygienist in Hastings, is married to Matt; they have two sons, David and Drew. Cathy is a Human Resources Specialist in the Battle Creek area and is married to Mike.
My husband of over 30 years is Dave; he is the Procurement and Logistics Manager at Flexfab, LLC in Hastings. We both love to travel. Our favorite destinations (so far) are Antigua (the east coast) and Traverse City in the fall. We have not found any locations in the Caribbean that we did not like. We have found that the "empty nest" is WONDERFUL.
My hobbies, other than traveling with my husband, include reading, walking, and spending time in Gun Lake at the family cottage--and, of course, with my grandson. I am very excited for my newest grandbabies to arrive.
Deb joined Walker, Fluke & Sheldon, PLC in May of 2009.? Deb previously spent 16 years with MainStreet Savings, as a member of the senior management team, and 3 years with the City of Hastings as their Community Development Specialist. Deb provides Walker, Fluke & Sheldon with a wide range of expertise in marketing, business development and customer service.? She is very active with numerous community and business development initiatives in Barry and Ionia Counties.
I’ve been with Walker, Fluke & Sheldon, PLC since February 2001. I started as seasonal clerical help. Jack, Chris and Kathy seemed to like my work and interaction with the clients, that they offered me three days a week during the non tax season and full time in tax season. That soon turned to full time front desk help and now I am Executive Administrator to the partners. I still oversee the front desk, so you will see my face often. Clients can ask for me anytime. I really enjoy my work and interaction with our clients.
My husband Chris and I have three grown sons. Our oldest has been married over 5 years. Our middle son just recently got married in beautiful Charlevoix in a castle. Our youngest will complete 4 years at GVSU in December 2008, majoring in computer science. We love to work in our yard, planting flowers and vegetables and trees. But we really love to be lazy in our pool and recently completed Tiki Hut. I love to take long walks in almost any kind of weather. I love to cook and bake, especially around the holidays. Chris and I make up goody trays and give them away to friends and family every year. And it has become tradition at the office that I make Pumpkin rolls for the employees to enjoy with their families. We love to travel, and my husband knows to be ready to take off right after tax season for the much needed vacation. We recently purchased a WII system, and I have become very competitive in golf, bowling and baseball. So bring on the challenges. I’m ready!
Originally from Pennsylvania, my family moved to Hastings in 1946 and later to Lake Odessa in 1948. I graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1956 and from Ferris Institute in 1963 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation from college, I served in the Michigan National Guard while pursuing a career in the public accounting field. In 1984, I started my own accounting practice in Hastings, which specialized in small business accounting, payroll service, and business, individual and farm income taxes. Planning for retirement, on October 1, 2004, Walker, Fluke, & Sheldon, PLC purchased my accounting practice, at which time my staff and myself joined their employees. I look forward to providing continued valuable service to clients and friends.
I have served on the Lakewood School Board for five years, Ferris State University College of Business Alumni Board for four years, Lake Odessa Pee Wee Football Board for two years, First Baptist Church for nine years as Treasurer, and am currently a Director of Union Bank of Lake Odessa since 1991. When I find time to relax, I enjoy the outdoors by fishing, hunting or camping. My wife, Phyllis, and I have been married since 1959.
Born and raised in Delton, I graduated from Delton Kellogg High School in 1989. I then attended Western Michigan University and graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a major in accounting.
I began working for Walker, Fluke & Sheldon, PLC in December 2002. While at the office, you will find my hands in just about everything. My duties include:

Providing consulting services for governmental entities, non-profits, and businesses
QuickBooks® and Peachtree® consulting
Preparation of non-profit applications
Prior to working for Walker, Fluke & Sheldon, PLC, I acquired experience in many different facets of the accounting industry. In addition to public accounting, I have worked for a restaurant, law firm, church, and a corporation. Working in environments that are so different from each other, gave me hands-on experience in many different facets of the accounting industry. This has allowed me to better understand the view points of individuals working in non-profit organizations and businesses of all sizes.
When not at the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and participating in my children’s many extracurricular activities.
I graduated from Thornapple Kellogg High School in 1999 and soon thereafter headed north to Central Michigan University where I intended on earning my education degree. Those intentions were short-lived when I changed my major to accounting my freshman year and never looked back. I graduated from CMU in the spring of 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting and I began working for Walker, Fluke & Sheldon PLC in early 2005.
In June 2005 I married and my husband, Andy and I now have a son, Brayden.

I am a life-long resident of the friendly, rural village of Middleville and a 1988 graduate of TK Schools. After graduating from Cornerstone University in 1993 with a Business Management Degree, I began a career in the wholesale lumber industry as an inside sales representative, I was promoted to Warehouse Manager, where I learned the value of servicing the needs of customers through providing quality products and services, providing them in a timely fashion, and following through on promises made. I look forward to incorporating these values into the accounting services that I will be providing. In 2004, I returned to school to pursue a graduate degree in accounting from Grand Valley State University; In 2006, I was able to complete my studies. I was hired at Walker Fluke & Sheldon, PLC in June of 2006 and have since completed the requirements for my CPA license.
My wife, Rojean, is also a graduate of Cornerstone University and for the past twelve years has been an English and History teacher at the TK Middle School. We are the proud parents of three active children: Austin, Caytie, and Moriah. Most of our "free" time is spent shuffling the older two to music lessons and a wide variety of sporting events, while keeping the younger one occupied and happy. We are all very involved with First Baptist Church of Middleville.

Born and raised in Hastings, I graduated from Hastings High School in 2003. After high school, I continued my education, attending Kellogg Community College and Western Michigan University where I graduated in April 2008, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Currently, I am in the process of furthering my career by preparing for the CPA exams.
In August of 2007, I joined the team at Walker, Fluke & Sheldon, PLC, in the Ionia office, while completing my education. I am excited for the opportunity to get to know our Ionia clients and look forward to becoming involved in the community. My responsibilities at WFS are diverse, including:

When I am not at work or studying, you will find me enjoying time with family and friends around and on the lake or golf course. I am a very proud aunt of a nephew and new niece, who I enjoy spending time with fishing, hunting for lake treasures and turtles, or just hanging out.
I was born in rural Pennsylvania and raised in western New York. I crossed Lake Erie to Michigan to attend college and graduated from Cornerstone University. I gained my extensive accounting background through my past employment with various accounting departments and firms. I was self-employed while homeschooling my three boys. After working at Fetterman Accounting, I joined Walker, Fluke & Sheldon, PLC in October 2004. Here at WFS I help my clients with small business bookkeeping, payroll, and income tax preparation.
I have been married to Bret. who was raised in the Hastings area, for over 25 years. Our oldest son, Seth, graduated May 2008 from Eastern Michigan University and is currently employed in Lynchburg, VA. Caleb, the middle son, is studying at Cornerstone University to be a Physical Education teacher. Our youngest, Aaron, is working in Lynchburg, living with Seth, and preparing to attend Liberty University. Seth and Aaron are serving at One Community Church in Lynchburg. Those of us in Hastings are active at Thornapple Valley Church with the youth and worship teams.
Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling to Virginia, teaching piano, reading Nicholas Sparks books, tooling around town in my "Tweety" car, and playing with my schnoodle, Baxter.

I'm originally from the Cascade area, a suburb of Grand Rapids, and attended Forest Hills Public schools.
I married my husband, Gary, in 1971 and started a family. In 1976, I went back to school and got my high school diploma from Lowell Area Public Schools. I continued my education with an Associate's Degree in accounting at Davenport College.
I have had many years of accounting experience, starting with fifteen years at Foremost Insurance Company in their accounting and auditing departments. I have also held other positions as customer service representative, office manager, and staff accountant.
I joined Walker, Fluke & Sheldon, PLC in November, 2005. I enjoy working with the clients and using my many years of accounting experience to help answer any questions they may have. I have always loved a good challenge and working here gives me the opportunity to work with many different types of businesses.
My husband and I have lived in the Clarksville area for the last 30 years and own a small business in town. We have two sons and four grandchildren. I enjoy reading, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and, of course, spending time with my grandchildren.
I was born and raised in Kentwood, Michigan where I attended East Kentwood High School. After high school I attended Davenport College. After college I worked as a receptionist at Plante Moran. My husband, Patrick, and I have four children: Josh (Jessi), Jason (Adina), Holly (Troy), and Justin, and as of 2008 we have two grandchildren and one on the way.
When I am not at work, you will find me enjoying time with my family. My favorite place to travel to is Manitoulin Island in Canada where my daughter and her husband live. Some of my hobbies include golfing, tennis, walking and knitting.
